A Pregnancy Story preserves the hopes, dreams, preparations, and emotions that surround this season. We'll begin with a relaxed interview in your home, reflecting on your journey into parenthood, before documenting natural moments and portraits at a location that feels meaningful to you.

My approach
Relaxed, warm and supportive.
As a mother of two myself, I understand the nature of motherhood and the importance of feeling comfortable, supported, and unhurried in front of the camera.
I allow ample time to capture you and your little one, so you can fully relax and simply be as you are. There is no need to prepare anything or perform for the camera - I will gently guide the process, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you. From your pregnancy session, to the sanctity of the birth room, and the tender moments at home with a newborn, my role is to document your story in a way that feels true to you and your family’s needs.

Hi, I'm Hayley.
I'm a filmmaker, storyteller, wife and mother who believes ordinary lives contain extraordinary stories.
Family Legacy Films grew from a simple belief: every family has stories worth keeping.
My role is to create a relaxed space where you can simply be yourself. I then capture you as you are, crafting stories your family can treasure for generations.

The Experience
1. Discovery call
Enquire via the contact form, and we will talk about your story and timing.
2. Payment
Payment plans are available. Payment is due in full prior to your film session or EDD, but the cost may be spread throughout your pregnancy.
3. Filming
We make plans that are relaxed and flexible - I will come to your home, or the agreed location, and will gently guide the process. (Birth stories are documented unobtrusively).
4. Delivery
Your precious stories are delivered digitally via a VidFlow Gallery for your family to watch, share, download and treasure forever.

Maternity & pregnancy stories sessions are typically filmed between 28–36 weeks, when your bump is visible but you are still feeling relatively comfortable. However, every pregnancy is different, and we can choose a time that feels right for you.

As early as possible. I take a limited number of birth bookings to ensure I remain available around your due date.

Birth is wonderfully unpredictable, and I remain on-call around your due date. We will stay in touch as your birth approaches, and I will do everything I can to be there when labour begins.

Birth stories are about your experience, not a particular type of birth. Whether your baby arrives at home, in hospital, via induction, or by caesarean birth, your story is worthy of being documented with care and respect.

Newborn films can be captured anytime within the first few weeks or months after birth. There is no rush. But around 7-10 days after birth is lovely. These sessions are relaxed and centred around your baby’s needs, allowing plenty of time for feeding, settling, and cuddles.

Please don't worry. Real life is welcome here. I am far more interested in the connection between you and your family than perfectly styled spaces. We will find beautiful light and meaningful moments wherever we are. And besides, the pile of laundry, the tea cups on the bench - it all tells a story of this time in your lives.

Wear whatever feels comfortable and true to you. Neutral tones and simple clothing often look beautiful, but I want your films and photographs to feel like an honest reflection of this season in your life.

Each story is different. I allow plenty of time so that no one feels pressured or rushed. Birth stories naturally vary in length, while pregnancy and newborn sessions are designed to unfold at a relaxed pace.

Only with your permission. I deeply respect the privacy of every family and will always discuss sharing preferences with you before posting any content.

Yes. Travel within Auckland is included, and I am available throughout New Zealand. Travel fees may apply outside Auckland.
